UGC jobs for beginners

UGC jobs for beginners and how to start

You do not need experience, a camera or a following to start. Brands hire beginners when the samples show clear light, clear sound and a natural voice. Here is the shortest route from nothing to a first order.

  • Free for creators, no listing fee
  • You set your own rates
  • Brand payment is held in escrow before you film

What beginner UGC jobs look like

Most first orders are simple, short videos about a product you can handle at home.

  • Unboxing and first impressions of a product
  • A short review in your own words
  • A demo of how you use something in a normal day
  • A set of product photos in daylight

Make your first samples

Pick two or three things you already own and film them as if for an ad. Hold the phone upright, face a window and keep each clip under 30 seconds. Say what the item is, why you use it and one thing you like.

Review the clips for shaky footage and echo. Re-film once if needed, then keep the best two or three. Quality of light and sound matter more than props.

Set your first rates

You set your own rates in US dollars for each type of content. Start with a figure you are happy to work for, because a brand sees it before it invites you. You can change it as you gain confidence. The payment sits in escrow before you film.

Apply and wait for briefs

Create a free profile, confirm your email with the four digit code and add your samples. Brands browse profiles and send invitations. Respond quickly, read the brief carefully and deliver on time. Your first completed order becomes your best proof for the next.

The basics, the same for every creator

Free to join

Your profile, your samples and your place in the catalog cost nothing. The marketplace fee is paid by the brand on top of your rate.

Your rates, in US dollars

You price a short video, a longer video, a photo set and raw footage yourself, and you can change the prices at any time. Brands see your rate before they invite you.

Paid after approval

The brand pays into escrow before you film. When the brand approves the video, the money is released to you through PayPal or Wise, or by bank transfer, to the details you save in your account.

How it works, step by step

  1. 1

    Create your profile

Sign up, confirm your email with a four digit code, then add your country, recording languages, niches and rates.

  2. 2

    Add samples

Paste links to videos you made or upload a video or photo. Profiles with at least one sample are checked and listed in the catalog.

  3. 3

    Get invitations and briefs

Brands invite you directly or publish open briefs you can pitch for. Every brief states the product, the format and the delivery date.

  4. 4

Film while the money is held

The brand authorizes payment, which sits in escrow. You film and upload the video in the format the brief asks for.

  5. 5

    Get paid after approval

Once the brand approves the video, the payment is released to you. You keep ownership of the video; the brand gets a licence to use it.
