UGC Creator Rates and how to price each type of content
Pricing UGC is easier when every type of content has its own rate. Here is how to set them, what should move your price, and what a brand pays on top of your rate on this marketplace.
Four rates brands can compare at a glance
Your profile carries one required rate and three optional ones. A brand reading your profile knows exactly what each format costs, and you never have to renegotiate a basic order.
| Rate | What it covers | On your profile |
|---|---|---|
| Short video | One vertical video up to 30 seconds, the most common UGC ad | Required |
| Video up to 60 seconds | Longer demos, tutorials and testimonials | Optional |
| Photo set | Five photos of the product in use | Optional |
| Raw footage | Unedited clips the brand can cut into its own ads | Optional |
What should move your UGC rate up or down
Usage rights
Approved videos here come with perpetual rights on all channels, paid ads included. Price the use, not only the filming.
Length and edit
A 60 second edited demo takes longer than a 15 second clip. Raw footage saves you editing but hands the brand more material.
Hook variations
Brands test several openings. Each extra hook is extra filming and worth an added price.
Turnaround
A fast turnaround is a service. Set the number of days you can reliably keep, and charge more for rush work.
Niche skill
Food styling, fitness form, skincare application or app screen recording need skill brands pay for.
Proof
Approved orders and brand reviews on your profile are the strongest reason to raise your rates over time.
Your rate stays your rate
The marketplace fee is charged to the brand on top of your rate, at a percentage set by the brand's plan. When the brand hires you, its card is authorized for your rate plus the fee. When it approves the video, your full rate goes to your payout account. The example on the right uses a made up rate to show the math.
Example with a $150 rate
- Brand on Plus, 7% fee
- brand pays $160.50, you receive $150
- Brand on Pro, 5% fee
- brand pays $157.50, you receive $150
- Brand on Enterprise, 4% fee
- brand pays $156.00, you receive $150
Questions about UGC rates and pay
Who sets the rate for a UGC video?
You do. The rate on your profile is the price a brand sees and pays for your work, and in a pitch you can name a rate for that specific brief. Nothing is auctioned down.
Does the platform take a cut of my rate?
No. The marketplace fee is added on top of your rate on the brand's side, at a percentage that depends on the brand's plan. Your rate is the amount sent to your payout account when the brand approves the video.
Should usage rights change my price?
Yes. A video a brand can run as a paid ad for as long as it likes is worth more to it than a single organic post. On this marketplace an approved video comes with full commercial rights for the brand, perpetual and on all channels, paid ads included, so build that into your rate from the start.
Do reshoots cost extra?
Each order includes free reshoots according to the brand's plan: one on Starter, three on Plus and unlimited on Pro. A reshoot fixes the scope written in the brief. Extra videos or a new concept are a new order at your rate.
When is my rate paid?
The brand authorizes the full amount when it hires you. When it approves the video, the amount is captured and your rate is sent by PayPal, Wise or bank transfer to the account you add in your workspace.
How do I raise my UGC rates?
Raise them as approved orders and brand reviews build up on your profile, when you add stronger samples, and for formats that take more work, such as longer videos or several hook variations.
