Trend.io Reviews for Brands, Pricing and What 10 Videos Cost

Trend.io is a legitimate self-serve UGC platform that is cheapest when you hire its entry-level creators and use up every credit you buy. Trend sells prepaid credit packages from $550 to $3,872, with no subscription and no percentage fee, and the credits expire 12 months after purchase. Reviews are few and mostly negative: Trustpilot shows 2.9 out of 5 from 7 reviews, with complaints about expired credits, refunds and creator quality.
This review is for a US brand deciding whether to buy a Trend package this month. Package prices were read off trend.io/pricing in September 2026. Ratings come from Trustpilot and are labeled as third-party. Trend is now part of soona, the product photo studio, which its Trustpilot listing and a June 2026 customer review both show. Where Trend is the cheaper choice, including against our own marketplace, we say so.
How much does Trend.io cost?
Trend.io costs $550 for 60 credits, $1,045 for 140, $1,980 for 280 or $3,872 for 560, paid upfront. A creator costs 20, 40 or 60 credits depending on skill and delivers 2 videos or 5 photos. Trend prints the best case as $91.67 down to $69.14 per video, and new brands get 10% off the first package with the code on its pricing page.
| Package | Price | Credits | Trend's best-case price per video | Price per credit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $550 | 60 | $91.67 | $9.17 |
| Essential | $1,045 | 140 | $74.64 | $7.46 |
| Growth | $1,980 | 280 | $70.71 | $7.07 |
| Scale | $3,872 | 560 | $69.14 | $6.91 |
The printed per-video figure assumes the cheapest, 20-credit creator. A 60-credit creator on the Starter package works out to $275 per video, three times the headline. Single credits bought inside the platform cost $9.16. Every package includes full licensing and distribution rights to approved content, unlimited project requests and pre-set creator rates with no negotiation.
What ten videos really cost on Trend.io
Ten videos means five creators at two videos each. How many credits that takes depends on the creator tier you approve, and the package you have to buy to cover it is usually larger than the job, so part of the money sits as credit.
| Option for ten videos | Paid upfront | Cost of the ten videos | Left over |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trend, 20-credit creators (Essential) | $1,045 | $746, about $75 a video | 40 credits, about $299 |
| Trend, 40-credit creators (Growth) | $1,980 | $1,414, about $141 a video | 80 credits, about $566 |
| Trend, 60-credit creators (Growth plus 20 credits) | $2,163 | $2,163, about $216 a video | none |
| UGCcreators Plus, creators at $100 a video | nothing prepaid | $1,219 ($149 plan plus 7%) | none |
| UGCcreators Plus, creators at $200 a video | nothing prepaid | $2,289 | none |
The honest reading: at Trend's entry creator tier, Trend is the cheapest way to buy ten videos, even counting the unused credit. At the mid tier it is close to a monthly marketplace, and it only stays cheap if you spend the leftover credit within the year. At the top tier the gap disappears and the difference is who you pick and how you pay. Our own plan prices and fees are on the UGC pricing page.
Is Trend.io legit?
Yes. Trend is a real US platform that pays creators through the platform and guarantees reimbursement when a hired creator does not deliver, according to its pricing FAQ. Its public brand-side record is weak, though: 7 Trustpilot reviews, 72% of them one-star, and no replies from the company to the negative ones.
Seven reviews is too few to prove much, so read what they say rather than the score. Three themes repeat across four years. First, credits: a June 2026 reviewer bought a $500 credit and was told it could not be used after 12 months, and says the rule did not apply before the soona acquisition. Second, refunds: two reviewers say that when a creator went silent, Trend kept the money and told them to hire someone else. Third, quality: reviewers describe a creator pool heavy on skincare content and one delivery that showed the wrong product. The single five-star review is one line about the app controls.
What Trend.io does well
- No subscription and no percentage. You pay for creators and nothing else. For a brand that buys twice a year, that beats any monthly plan, ours included.
- Photos, not only video. Five photos per creator at $27.66 to $36.67 each is cheap for lifestyle and product imagery for a store or Amazon listing.
- No negotiation. Every creator works at a set credit price, so you never haggle over a rate.
- Rights included. Approved content comes with 100% licensing and distribution rights for social, ads, websites and marketplaces.
- A delivery guarantee. Trend states you do not pay if a creator does not produce, and that you will be reimbursed.
Where Trend.io falls short for brands running paid social
The weak spots are about shape. Credits are prepaid and expire, so a brand that pauses testing for a quarter can lose money it already spent. Trend averages two to three weeks to produce all content on a project, which is slow for a media buyer rotating fresh hooks every week. The published pricing does not state a revision allowance. And the reviewers who hit trouble mostly hit it at the refund step, which is the step that decides whether prepaid money was safe.
Budget the product too. Every creator needs a unit shipped, so ten videos means five products out of your stock, and a brand running tight stock should log those sample units in its inventory forecasting the same way it logs wholesale orders. Trend guarantees against lost products, but the units still leave your shelf.
Is Trend.io worth it for brands?
Trend is worth it for a brand that needs a batch of cheap photos and short videos once or twice a year, is happy with entry-level creators and will spend every credit inside twelve months. It is a weaker fit for a brand running paid social every month, where expiring credits, a two to three week production window and an uneven refund record carry real cost.
A quick test before you buy: count the videos you will actually approve in the next twelve months. If that number does not use the whole package, price the leftover credit as a loss and compare again.
What are the best Trend.io alternatives?
It depends on what you want to change. To keep paying per video with no subscription, Billo starts at $99 per video, and our Billo review for brands shows what ten videos cost there, including its own credit-expiry complaints. For a large open marketplace, Collabstr is free to hire from at a 10% fee, covered in the Collabstr review and pricing page. To choose each creator by name, pay monthly and hold nothing in prepaid credit, our Trend.io alternative comparison walks through the trade-offs line by line.
The verdict for a US brand buying this month
Buy a Trend package if you want the lowest possible price per asset from entry-level creators and you will use every credit within the year. Skip it if you run creative tests every month and need to pick the exact creator, set the turnaround and get your money back when a hire goes quiet. On our marketplace you write one brief, browse vetted creators and their own rates, invite the ones you want and pay into escrow that is captured only when you approve the video, with reshoots set by your plan. Our catalog is smaller than Trend's, which is the honest trade for paying only for what you approve.
